This is a lovely Australian doll from Laurie Cohen and would date to the 1930’s era or thereabouts. She is approximately 14.5″ in length.

She has a painted bisque German head and is marked 696-1 1/2 and if there is anything else I am unable to read it. The head has no damage. She has lovely moulded hair that has been painted and sleeping blue glass eyes with the eyelid wax intact. Her open mouth reveals 2 little teeth. The rest of her facial features are painted and there are some minor rub marks to her cheeks.

She is on her original cloth body that is in good but aged condition with a non working ma-ma in her torso. Her arms and legs are in excellent condition and are celluloid.

She comes wearing a gorgeous vintage frock and matching bonnet that would be from the same era with hand embroidered flowers and cotton lace trims. Underneath she has a cotton pink petticoat also trimmed with lace and vintage underwear and knitted bootees.

She is a lovely example of these highly collectable Australian dolls.
