This antique character toddler doll was made by the German firm of Armand Marseille around 1915. She is approximately 22″ in height and a hard to find mould number.

Her bisque socket head has no damage and the markings are clear on the back of her head. She has gorgeous blue glass sleeping eyes with most of her eyelid wax intact and most of her original dark “real” eyelashes. Her eyebrows are multi stroked and she has delicately stroked upper and lower eyelashes as well as the usual red accent dots in the corner of each eye and her nostrils. She has an open mouth with 2 top teeth and a red tongue behind. Her chubby blushed cheeks are lovely and bright and she has exposed ears.

She is on her original composition toddler body but may have replaced arms as they are quite worn but I do not know for certain (see photos). The body has a red stamp on it and the stringing is very good. The value of this doll is not in her body and she is priced to sell as this mould usually sells for much more than my asking price.

She had no wig and I have found a lovely replacement wig that is auburn in colour and in plaits and suits her nicely and also she has a replacement pate. I have not attached these so that I can stuff the head to protect the eyes in transit.

She comes wearing a vintage cotton frock trimmed with lace and ribbon with embroidered work on the bodice. Underneath she also has a petticoat and pants as well as socks and buckle up shoes.

This lovely character doll displays well.
