This is an antique doll that was made around 1915 by the Japanese firm of Morimura Bros. This company made some beautiful bisque headed dolls and copied of course from the German Dolls and many of them are the same quality. The MB dolls are getting hard to find due to the limited number made in comparison with the German factories.

This girl stands in height approximately 17.5″. Her bisque socket head has no damage and she has brown sleeping glass eyes and an open mouth with a row of teeth. She has multi stroked eyebrows and delicately stroked upper and lower eyelashes. She has some minor rub marks on her blushed cheeks. Her blonde wig is a replacement and she has an antique cardboard pate (both have not been glued down to stuff the head to protect the eyes in transit).

Her composition body is all original to her despite some different colourings in the paintwork and has normal wear and marks from a doll that was played with. She has recently been re-strung so will be fine for many years to come.

She wears a vintage frock trimmed with cotton lace and braid and a velvet cap. She also has underneath pants, stockings and shoes that have lost the embellishments on the toes.
