This is a rare Chad Valley doll and is Dopey by Walt Disney. He was Made in England in 1938 and stands in height 6.5″. He is from my own collection.

Dopey is in remarkable condition for his age and has definitely not had a lot, if any, play time and retains the original swing tag on his arm. He also has the sewn on Chad Valley tag on his tummy.

The felt pressed face has been hand painted and he has felt ears that stick out under his felt cap. He does have some ageing to his face but is relatively minor.

The rest of him has been made from cotton materials other than his felt boots that match his cap and belt.

He can stand unassisted and is absolutely delightful and for any cloth doll collector he is a real find.
