This is a Norah Wellings Sailor Doll which is earlier than the Peggy Nisbet Sailor Dolls made later.

He measures in height approximately 8″ and has on his cap “S.S. Orsova”. The S.S. Orsova had its maiden voyage in 1954 so the doll dates to anywhere between 1954-1959 when Norah Wellings closed her factory. This ship bought many immigrants from Greece & Italy to Australia. This doll is in good but aged condition with some minor fading and some age marks on his pressed face. He has the Norah Wellings tag sewn onto the bottom of his foot.
