23″ ANTIQUE GERMAN HEUBACH KOPPELSDORF DOLL – NEEDS MINOR TLC

$165.00

This antique doll was made by the German firm of Ernst Heubach (Koppelsdorf) and is the 250 mould. She needs some minor TLC and dressing so have priced her to sell. She is 23″ in height and has a pretty face.

Her bisque socket head is free of damage and the only fault is a small rub mark on her highly blushed cheeks. She has her original deep brown sleeping eyes, multi stroked eyebrows and delicately stroked upper and lower eyelashes along with the usual red accent dot in the corner of each eye and her nostrils. Her open mouth reveals a row of top teeth and she has a little dimple in her chin. Her markings are clear on the back of her head.

Her blonde mohair wig in plaits is definitely a vintage replacement and it has been stuck over what was left of her darker coloured hair. It is FIRMLY glued on and I do not know what type of glue was used. A hole has been made in the pate to stuff the head to protect the eyes in transit.

Her composition ball jointed body appears to be original to her and may have had some touch ups over the years. One finger has a crack and will need to be glued as it is loose. Her stringing has been re-done at some time and is fine.

With a little bit of TLC and dressing this doll will be lovely amongst any collection.
