VINTAGE GERMAN MADE NON WORKING MUSICAL RABBIT PLUS SMALL PLUSH JAPANESE DOG TOY
These are both very cute vintage toys as described the best I can. They are lovely items for any collector of dolls, bears & toys.
The one on the left was either made by Steiff or Schuco in Germany but unsure of which as no tags are remaining. He measures in length approximately 27cm (11″). Originally you could pull the cord on the top of his head to play music from a Swiss movement within his tummy but this is now non-working. He has been well loved but still retains quite a lot of his lovely mohair. He has glass original eyes and a red stitched nose and mouth and retains a very faded blue original ribbon attached to his chest. He is two-toned. He would date to pre 1950’s. His head is straw or similar filled and the rest of his body contains soft filling as well as the music box which feels wooden.
The other small toy dog is Japanese made and retains the tag and is another well worn plush toy in 2 tones (brown and cream). He is in aged condition with his cream colouring now quite dirty looking. His little eyes are glass and his button nose is hanging loose and he has lost his mouth stitching. He is soft filled and measures approximately 12cm in length. This one would date to the 1940’s era.
