This is a vintage Topsy Turvy doll and I would think this is homemade and from around the 1940’s era. It measures approximately 14-15″ in length and needs a little TLC to the eyes on the white head.

Made entirely from cloth it is a lovely reminder of when dolls were made by mothers for their little girls and it is in good condition overall with no real issues other than she is missing the iris and pupil of one eye that could easily be made. The other eye needs securing as is nearly off. These facial features have just been glued onto the face.

Topsy Turvy dolls were very popular and often made with a white head and black head as this version is.

Both heads have woollen black hair and the black head has brass type earrings. I would say the black head did have longer wool hair at one stage but still has some.

The fabrics are classic fabrics and lovely and clean and sturdy.

A lovely reminder of “days gone by”.
