This gorgeous Military bear was originally purchased from the Military Shop for much more than my asking price. He is in “as new” condition and only taken out of his box to photograph.

Trooper Bert Jones was created to commemorate the service of the Australia Light Horse in the Great War. His uniform represents the distinctive ALH garb, which differed from the standard 1912 Australian Imperial Forces’ uniform by the addition of the emu plume in his slouch hat; 1903 pattern leather leggings, riding breeches and the 1903 pattern bandolier, which held 90 rounds for his Lee Enfield rifle, and waist belt which could be fitted to hold even more rounds.

Bert wears the colour patch of 5 LH Regiment, which was raised in Queensland in September 1914 and fought at Gallipoli and then with the ANZAC Mounted Division in the Middle East. While not all ALH regiments wore the emu plume, it is a widely recognised symbol of the light horse.

Trooper Jones stands in height 20″ and was made some time in the 2000’s. He has his Certificate of Authenticity within the box and is a wonderful bear that displays well.
