THE ART OF DOLLS 1700-1940 BY MADELINE OSBORNE MERRILL
This is one of the earlier books on dolls and was published in Great Britain in 1985. Despite its age it is still a great reference book and in very good condition. It is hard-covered with a dust jacket (some wear) and contains a total of 438 pages.
The book is a comprehensive selection of antique and collectable dolls as well as a valuable identification and visual dictionary. It is chronologically arranged and covers all types of dolls including peg-woodens, wax, papier mache, china, leater, parian, cloth, bisque and composition. It has 1044 black and white photographs and 97 colour photographs.
