This is a superb example of a reproduction French doll made by an Australian artist who went under the name of Laura Hickey Dolls and I do believe she passed away many years ago. She was one of Australia’s earlier doll artists and I believe lived in Qld. The back of the head is signed. She was made in 1988 and is just under 18″ in height.

This doll represents quality and her bisque socket head is painted beautifully and she has stunning stationary set blue glass eyes and pierced ears.

The body is a wooden/composition reproduction French body in beautiful condition with nothing to mention and is strung well.

She comes wearing a mushroom pink frock that suits her beautifully that is trimmed with handmade lace. Underneath she has pantaloons, stockings and faux patent leather buckle up shoes. The vintage hat she wears over her blonde wig is vintage and also made in a vintage style to suit the doll and embellished with braid, lace, fabric flowers and a gorgeous feather.

This doll is just ready to display and buyer will be thrilled with her. She represents many hours of work and even today you could not make a doll of this quality for my asking price.
