STUNNING LARGE SCHOENAU & HOFFMEISTER 170 GERMAN PAINTED BISQUE CHARACTER DOLL – 25″

$425.00

This is an antique doll that is relatively rare and was made by the German firm of Schoenau & Hoffmeister around the 1920’s era. She is a character doll and her mold number is 170-6.

She is a large 25″ doll and is painted (or sprayed) bisque on her original composition body.

She has a socket head that has been painted beautifully and is so lovely and bright and shows that she was a doll that was not played with often. There is only 1 minor mark on her left cheek and barely worth mentioning. She has sleeping blue glass eyes with her original eyelid wax intact but no longer retains her “real” upper eyelashes. Her eyebrows are multi stroked and she has the usual red dot accent in the corner of her eyes and her nostrils. She has an open mouth with 2 upper teeth and a red tongue behind as well as a little dimple in her chin. Her original wig appears to be human hair. There will be some areas under her wig missing paint as the wig and pate need to be eased up to stuff the head to protect the eyes in transit. This is considered minor but has to be done as nobody wants to receive a doll with broken eyes! The wig can be carefully glued back down later or left “as as”.

The markings on the back of her head are lovely and clear.

She is on her original composition bent limbed body that is in lovely condition and has at some time had some re-paints done to her arms. She has been re-strung so will last for many years to come.

She has been dressed in a lovely outfit that consists of a printed pinafore frock over a petticoat that is pink at the top and white at the skirt and trimmed with lace. She also has a vest, pants, socks and shoes and some vintage flowers in her hair.

She is a stunning doll and ready to display and buyer will not be disappointed in her.

An email will need to be sent to me in relation to postage and packaging cost as she is a very heavy doll that will require careful packaging.
