This is a smaller sized Penny Wooden doll and these dolls were usually made in Germany and would date to the 1900’s era. They are also known as Dutch dolls.

They were always crudely carved and jointed with little wooden pins. I am not sure with this one if she has had a replacement head though as the head does not appear to be as old as the body. Despite this she is still a lovely example of these dolls and are ideal for a larger antique doll to hold.

Some people do dress them but I like them in their natural state.
