This is a lovely 1930’s composition doll made by the German firm of Hugo Wiegand. This doll could either be a boy or a girl but I have dressed her as a girl. She measures in length approximately 19″ (just over) and is heavy and chunky doll!

The condition of this doll is very good and the stringing is fine.

The head has some wear to the paintwork (lips and eyebrows) but not too bad. The open mouth reveals 2 upper pearlised teeth and a red tongue behind. The hair has some moulding and painted auburn and she retains her original blue glass sleeping eyes with the eyelid wax intact.

The 5 piece body is also in very good condition with an old re-paint (or some areas) at some time in her life.

She comes wearing a vintage baby’s gown that is just gorgeous that is an embroidered lace material over a satin lining. Underneath she has some undies.

The makers markings are clear on the back of her head.

This beautiful doll is ideal to display in a pram or a high chair and is display ready.
