LOVELY ANTIQUE PAINTED BISQUE ARMAND MARSEILLE 290 – 16″ (40cm)

$140.00

This is a lovely doll and is painted bisque and would date to around the 1920’s era. The painted bisque dolls have a lovely soft complexion similar to composition and this is a really good example.

This doll was made by the German firm of Armand Marseille and is the 390 mould.

She measures in length approximately 16″ (40cm) and has a painted bisque socket head with only very minor marks (barely worth mentioning!). She retains her original brown glass sleeping eyes and has “real” upper eyelashes. She has an open mouth with teeth and a little dimple in her chin. She retains her original mohair wig and pate that are attached firmly and I won’t remove them as it would result in the paintwork coming off. There is a small area of paint missing right at the top of her head where the wig sits only. Her markings are very clear on the back of her head.

She comes on her original wooden/composition body that is in good, played with condition and her stringing is fine.

She comes dressed in a sweet vintage/antique frock with a petticoat and matching pantaloons. She also has vintage socks and gorgeous shoes with pom pom embellishment on the toes that tie up with ribbon.

This lovely cabinet sized doll is ready to display.
