This large Japanese made celluloid shoulderplate head would make up into a fabulous doll although it is just as nice displayed “as is”. Originally it came from old shop stock and there was also a black version.

The condition overall is very good with just a small piece of damage towards the base of the shoulderplate. There are also minor rub marks.

The facial features have all been hand painted and he has moulded hair painted auburn. His sleeping brown eyes are also celluloid and hand painted and he has a couple of painted teeth.

The back of the shoulderplate is clearly marked with the patent number, a T in a circle denoting the factory and a paper label which would have been for importing purposes.

This is a great head and would date to the 1930’s – 1940’s era.
