This doll was made in Germany by Zapf in the 1980’s and is a lovely large doll of almost 27″. She is called “Early Steps” and is not a doll often found in Australia and considered a rare doll and was one of Zapf’s flagship dolls of the time. I believe her name may be Pamela.

She is a vinyl doll with a cloth torso with a mechanism inside her but I could not get it to work so will sell her as “non working” but even non working examples of these dolls usually sell for $100 or more USD.

She has blonde rooted hair and lovely sleeping blue eyes with her original eyelashes intact.

I don’t believe her clothing is original to her but fits perfectly. The cuffs on the sleeves of the frock need repairing. Her dummy is original to her. She also has a lovely silver bangle that was added later.

She has slight ageing to the cloth torso and is a big doll that displays beautifully and can be displayed standing or sitting.
