LARGE ANTIQUE GERMAN SIMON & HALBIG, KAMMER & REINHARDT DOLL – 23″

$450.00

This is a lovely doll and it was made by Simon & Halbig for Kammer & Reinhardt, Germany around the 1900 era. She is a lovely faced doll and dressed ready to display. She is 23″ in height (24″ counting her wig).

Her bisque socket head head has no damage and is marked Simon & Halbig, K * R, 62. She has her original sleeping blue glass spiral eyes that are stunning and the only fault is she is missing her eyelid wax which can only be seen when she is lying down so does not affect her value at all. One eye sits slightly up more than the other but can be adjusted by stuffing the head (which will be done for posting to protect them in transit). She has raised, multi stroked eyebrows and finely stroked upper and lower eyelashes. Her open mouth reveals a row of pearlised teeth and a tongue behind. Her colouring is just lovely with nothing to make mention of. Her wig is a replacement wig and a bit messy but does suit her and settled down with a bonnet.

Her composition ball jointed body is original to her and in good condition with just minor marks as expected of a doll of this age that was played with. Her stringing is good.

She comes dressed in a gorgeous frock that has been made from antique cotton materials and underneath has a petticoat and pantaloons also from antique fabrics. Her lace bonnet is also antique or vintage and has some ageing. She also has aged stockings and lovely reproduction shoes that tie up with ribbons and have lovely embellishments on the front.

This is a beautiful doll at a great price as this size can bring much more than I am asking.
