This is an American composition doll and is one of the Madame Alexander Dionne Quintuplet dolls in the larger size of 20″. The Quintuplets of this size fetch far more in the USA and hard to find here in Australia. She does have some faults though so I have priced her accordingly. She is from the 1930’s era.

She is a full composition doll and clearly marked on both the back of her head and her back.

She has lovely clear eyes and retains most of her original mohair eyelashes. The eyes open and close with ease. Her wig that is also original appears to be human hair and could do with some re-styling but is nice and full.

She has hand painted eyebrows, lower eyelashes and a red mouth and also has the red accent dot in the corner of each eye and her nostrils. There is slight wear to the facial painting and there is a crack in the composition as can be seen in the photo.

This is a doll that was played with and as such has some minor wear including some wear to the original paintwork and some chips to the ends of her fingers and a larger chip on her left foot that has taken out most of her toes. I have photographed all of these faults. She also needs to be re-strung as is a little loose.

She comes wearing a non original simple cotton frock, a petticoat and pants.

It would not take much to restore this lovely Quintuplet.
