Jan McLean was a New Zealand doll artist who is world re-knowned. Her porcelain and vinyl dolls were made in Limited Numbers and highly sought after. This is one of her vinyl dolls which are no longer made.

Nikita standing is from her 2002 “Touch” Collection. She stands in height 33″ (84cm) and displays beautifully. She was a Limited Edition of 3500 world wide. She is signed on the back of her head and is number 280.

Nikita is a Caribbean queen with lots of dark curls pulled up into pigtails. Her violet eyes (originally brown I believe) have real upper and lower eyelashes.

Her vibrant frock is made from hand-dyed silks and velvets that show off her beautiful long legs and finished off with metallic purple leather shoes. She also has a crystal necklace, earrings and bracelet.

Nikita is in lovely condition with minor fading to her clothing which seemed to always occur with this outfit and there may be the odd minor mark but nothing too noticeable.

She is attached to her original wooden stand that has some damage at the front where the laminex has gone and could be repaired. I have also known collectors to remove these dolls from the stands and just have on a metal stand for displaying but I am leaving her “as is”.

She has no box or certificate.

Nikita is now a hard to find dark coloured doll and she is just beautiful.
