HUGE 29″ ANTIQUE FRENCH DOLL – UNIS FRANCE 301 (SFBJ) – BEAUTIFULLY DRESSED

$750.00

This antique doll is an extremely hard to find doll in this large size of 29″ and if you are a lover of antique dolls this one displays beautifully and only has minor faults and is priced at half of what a doll of this size would normally be.

She has a bisque socket head that is clearly incised with Unis France, 71, 149, 301. The head was made by the French firm of SFBJ (Societe Francaise de Fabrication de Bebes et Jouets) and would date to around 1920.

The head has no damage apart from a rim chip as shown in the photos and some wig pulls that does not affect the dolls value. She has her original blue glass sleeping eyes with eyelid wax and raised, multi stroked eyebrows. She has “real” upper eyelashes that are a little sparse and stroked lower eyelashes as well as the usual red accent dot in the corner of each eye and her nostrils. She has an open mouth with a row of original teeth. She has a dimple in her chin and the blush is nice and bright. There are a couple of rub marks to her bisque.

Her wig is human hair and possibly original but the pate is a replacement. It is a lovely brunette colour and in great condition.

I believe her ball jointed composition body is original to her and at some time in her life she has been re-strung so will last for many years to come. There is an area on the body that has been repaired and she has had some touch ups of paintwork (please see photos). Some areas of her body are lighter than others.

She comes wearing a beautiful mushroom coloured drop waisted frock made from a satin material with ruching at the bodice and trimmed with old cotton lace, ribbons and diamente buttons. She has a lovely bow on the front with a diamente buckle. Underneath she has a white cotton petticoat, white pantaloons trimmed with lace and black stockings and boots. In her hair she has a bow.

This beautiful doll is display ready and something special.

Postage and packaging is to be determined and is on top of the price. I do not pre-package and it will be worked out once sold. I do investigate the best option to send whether it is via Australia Post or a Courier and package extremely well.
