GORGEOUS GERMAN ANTIQUE ARMAND MARSEILLE 390 – 27″ HEIGHT
This is a stunning antique doll made by the German firm of Armand Marseille and is dressed beautifully. She is 27″ in height and display ready.
Her bisque socket head is free from any damage and is painted superbly. She has sleeping blue glass eyes with most of her original eyelashes intact, multi stroked eyebrows and delicately stroked upper and lower eyelashes. She has the usual red accent dot in the corner of each eye and her nostrils. She has an open mouth with lovely painted lips and a row of teeth and her blushing is bright and even. Her markings are clear on the back of her head. She has her original mohair wig and cardboard pate. She has a really pretty face. Her wig and pate have been removed so that the head can be stuffed to protect the eyes in transit and it is a very easy job to re-attach with PVA (water based glue).
Her quality composition body is original to her and is a stamped Heinrich Handwerke ball jointed body in beautiful condition and is strung well.
Her silk outfit when new was over $100 and came via Theiraults (USA) and consists of the dropped waist frock with pleats and cotton lace and ribbon trims along with a matching bonnet that is perfect on her but is turned up at the sleeves as they were a little too long. Underneath she has her original chemise and more modern pantaloons that could do with re-sizing as they are a little long and turned up so that they don’t poke out under her frock. She has gorgeous knitted long socks and her original antique shoes that are in aged condition and missing one embellishment.
This gorgeous girl will not disappoint as she will be wonderful amongst any collection and a lovely large sized doll.
