This is a lovely large antique doll made by the reknowned German firm of Armand Marseille and would date to around the 1900 circa.

She has a bisque socket head that is free from damage. Her antique blue glass eyes are set stationary and she has an open mouth with 4 upper teeth and a felt tongue (replacement) behind. She has multi-stroked eyebrows and delicately painted upper and lower eyelashes as well as the usual red accent dot in the corner of each eye along with red nostril dots. Her painting is beautiful with no rub marks and lovely blushed cheeks. Her wig is probably not original to her but is an antique wig that appears to be made from human hair and set in ringlets and a lovely strawberry blonde in colour.

She is on her original ball jointed composition body that is strung well and in overall very good, solid condition. She has had an amateur repair to one foot only that is hidden under the clothing.

She comes wearing a vintage apricot frock trimmed with antique cream lace that suits her perfectly. Underneath she has an antique petticoat, 1970’s pants, crocheted socks and aged shoes.

This doll is a lovely example of these much loved dolls and is just ready to display.
