CELLULOID MABEL LUCIE ATTWELL DIDDUMS – POOR CONDITION – LARGEST SIZE MADE
This is a celluloid “Diddums” doll made by Palitoy (England) and designed by artist Mabel Lucie Attwell in the late 1920’s era. This doll was made in 3 sizes and this was the largest size made. Unfortunately this one has damage and I have priced it accordingly.
Diddums has 2 major dents. One to the stomach and the other to the back of the head (see photos). There are also areas of paint loss which have been poorly touched up and could be done better.
The face though is just delightful with all original paintwork and no dents so when displayed still looks charming.
