CABINET SIZED ANTIQUE DOLL WITH RESTORED HEAD – STILL LOVELY – 11″ HEIGHT
This antique doll is German but I do not know the maker but it is similar to an Armand Marseille doll. As the head has been restored I have priced this doll cheaply and a nice antique body would cost this amount. This doll would date to around 1915 or a little earlier.
The bisque head has been restored and when backlit you can tell where the restoration is. She has her original glass brown eyes and an open mouth with little top teeth. Her colouring is nice but has been re-painted with the restoration. She has a handmade vintage mohair wig that suits her perfectly. All I can see on the back of the head is DEP.
The wooden/composition body is in lovely, played with condition with no issues. It is strung well.
She could do with re-dressing but will leave this to her new owner. She currently wears a simple vintage red and white checked frock , stockings and new pink shoes.
This is a great beginners doll and displays nicely.
