This is a gorgeous antique German made doll by the reknowned firm of Schoenau & Hoffmeister and is 1909 mould and made around this same time if not a little earlier. She measures in height approximately 18.5″. I am selling her for under what she originally cost me and she’s a lovely cabinet sized doll.

Her bisque socket head is free from any damage and just has some glue residue around the top of the head from where her wig was removed. She has sleeping glass blue eyes and some of her original eyelashes intact also. She has an open mouth with teeth and a dimple in her chin. Her eyebrows are multi-stroked and she has delicately upper and lower stroked eyelashes as well as the usual red accent mark in the corner of each eye. Her brunette human hair wig appears to be original to her but the pate is a replacement. It has thinned out with time but still has good coverage. Both these have been removed to stuff the head to protect the eyes in transit. Her markings are clear on the back of her head.

She is on her original composition ball jointed body that is strung well with the tip of one finger broken on her right hand and the ends chipped off on a couple on the other hand. The body has normal wear from an antique doll that was played with.

She has been dressed in an expensive blue silk outfit that originally came from Thieraults in the USA. The outfit at the time of purchasing new was around the $100 mark alone. The frock is silk with pleating down the front and cream cotton trims around the neckline and skirt. It does up at the back with hooks and eyes. The matching navy sailor type cap is cotton. Underneath she has an antique petticoat and pantaloons, black stockings and tie up black shoes with 1 shoe missing an embellishment.

This lovely doll is just ready to display.
