ANTIQUE GERMAN HEUBACH KOPPELSDORF DOLL NEEDING TLC – 19″ HEIGHT
$125.00
This antique doll needs a little TLC and is priced accordingly.
She was made by the German firm of Heubach Koppelsdorf and has clear markings on the back of her head. She is the 250 mold. She would date to around the 1920’s. She is approximately 19” in height.
Her bisque socket head has no damage. She has her original blue glass sleeping eyes that could do with some re-adjustment as tend to sit upwards slightly. They can be put straight just by putting tissue paper in her head. She has multi stroked eyelashes and delicately stroked upper and lower eyelashes as well as the usual read accent dot in the corner of each eye and her nostrils. She has an open mouth with a row of original teeth and a red tongue behind them. Her cheeks are nicely blushed. She has her original brown mohair wig that definitely needs some work.
Her crude composition body is original to her and she is strung with both elastic and wire. There is wear as shown in the photos but is in overall good condition. These cruder bodies were used on later dolls and produced in a hurry by the factories because of demand.
I would say her clothing is probably original to the doll as is certainly from around the same age of the doll. It consists of a floral top and skirt trimmed with cotton lace with buttons down the front, pantaloons, a fake bodice underneath, stockings and socks. They are in good, aged condition.
This is what I would call a “beginners” doll but with some TLC she will be lovely in any collection.
