ANTIQUE GERMAN HEINRICH HANDWERCK/SIMON & HALBIG DOLL – 21″ – STUNNING DOLL
$400.00
This is a stunning antique doll marked Heinrich Handwerck/Simon & Halbig, 2 1/2 that was made in Germany around the 1900’s era.
She has a bisque socket head with no damage and her paintwork is just lovely with highly blushed cheeks, raised multi stroked eyebrows, delicately stroked upper and lower eyelashes. She has an open mouth with a row of teeth and a tongue behind and has her gorgeous original deep brown glass eyes as well as her eyelid wax intact. She is clearly marked on the back of her head. There is some wig and glue residue from her original wig and she has a blonde human hair wig that is likely to be an old replacement. She also has an antique cardboard pate underneath. They have been removed to stuff the head to protect the eyes in transit. She has pierced ears with minor chips around them.
She is on her original ball jointed composition body that only has minor wear from a doll that was played with and is strung well. It has a red Handwerck stamp on it.
She comes wearing a lovely frock purchased many years ago from the Liverpool doll fair that is antique in style. It is made from a satin material and trimmed with vintage cotton lace, ribbon and decorative buttons. Underneath she has a vintage petticoat and pantaloons along with stockings and shoes. She has some lovely replacement earrings to match her outfit and a lovely quality made bonnet.
This lovely antique doll is a quality one and ready to display.
