ANTIQUE GERMAN HEADED THEODOR RECKNAGEL DOLL ON REPRODUCTION COMPOSITION BODY – 13.5″
This lovely doll has an antique head that was made by Theodor Recknagel that produced dolls between 1886 – 1930. The body is a reproduction body.
The doll stands in height approximately 13.5″. The antique socket head is free from any damage and has stationary set blue glass eyes, an open mouth with a row of teeth and a dimple in her chin. The upper and lower eyelashes have been delicately stroked and she has single stroked eyebrows. The colouring is lovely and even and the markings are very clear on the back of her head. She has a replaced auburn wig that cascades into curls down her back.
Her composition body is a reproduction replacement and is jointed. There is some bubbling in the composition that occured in the pouring of the body pieces and some grey knead it around the wrist areas that have been left unpainted to give them more stablility. It is strung well.
She comes wearing a lovely outfit in blue organza type material with white star prints on it and trimmed with some lace and ribbon. Underneath she has a petticoat trimmed with lace, pantaloons, socks and 1950’s black slip on shoes. She also has a bonnet to complete her outfit.
This doll is ready to display.
