ANTIQUE GERMAN DOLL ON REPLACED BODY – UNKNOWN MAKER – 7.5″ HEIGHT
This doll has an antique German head and is on a replaced body.
The head is a bisque socket head and I could see no damage and looks to have stationary set brown eyes (have not removed the wig or pate to see if they sleep). There are some markings on the back of the head that I am unable to read. She has single stroked eyebrows and a closed mouth and lovely “ruddy” blushed cheeks. The wig looks to be a replacement for sure as would the pate be. I could see no damage to the head.
She has been put onto a later body at some time in her life which I was unable to fully photograph as her clothing is sewn on but is a combination of bisque limbs and a cloth body.
Her sewn on outfit consists of a dress, jacket, hat and pantaloons and is in lovely condition.
This little doll would make a nice companion doll for a larger doll to hold.
