This is an antique German Armand Marseille Florodora in the large size of 27″. She is a unique doll having the inserted fur eyebrows. She was made somewhere between 1901 – 1920.

Her bisque socket head has no damage and she has gorgeous blue glass sleeping eyes with most of her eyelid wax intact. She has the unique inserted fur eyebrows and delicately stroked lower eyelashes along with the usual red accent dot in the corner of each eye and her nostrils. Her open mouth reveals 2 upper teeth and a red tongue behind and she has a little dimple in her chin. Her blonde wig with ringlets is a replacement, as is her cardboard pate. These have been removed to stuff the head to protect the eyes in transit. Her markings are clear on the back of her head and say “Made in Germany, Florodora, D.R.P., A.11.M.”

She is on her original ball jointed composition body that has had some minor repairs done before I owned her including at the base of her torso/top of legs. Further repair work could be done but this non professional repair is hidden under her clothing and not causing any issues. There is also another repair to one of her feet but again hidden with clothing. She has been re-strung.

She comes wearing a vintage outfit made from a deep maroon velvet and is 2 piece. The frock has a rouched pink top from a satin material and then the velvet skirt is attached and the jacket goes over the top. It has a bow at the front with a diamente embellishment. She also has a lovely vintage cream bonnet, petticoat, pantaloons, antique socks and later cream shoes that are missing the embellishments on the toes.
