ANTIQUE ARMAND MARSEILLE 351 (DREAM BABY) TODDLER CHARACTER DOLL – RARER BROWN EYES

$295.00

This is a gorgeous character baby by the reknowned firm of Armand Marseille, Germany that was known as the Dream Baby and dates to around the 1920’s era. It is the 351 model which has the open mouth with 2 little teeth. This is the harder to find Toddler model with the rarer brown eyes (the majority of these babies have blue eyes).

The bisque domed head is free from damage and just has some very minor rubbing that is barely worth mentioning on the right hand side of her cheek and nose. She has slightly molded hair tinged auburn. She has gorgeous brown glass sleeping eyes with delicately painted upper and lower eyelashes as well as the usual red accent dot in the corner of each eye and her nostrils. Her eyebrows are shaded. Her open mouth has 2 little glass teeth. I do have the head stuffed with tissue ready for transit but this can be removed by having someone assist you in pulling up the head, securing the stringing with a piece of dowel or pencil, removing the head, and taking out the tissues. Some tend to leave the stuffing inside the head. The back of her head is clearly marked with “A.M., Germany, 351/6K”.

She is on her original composition toddler body that is in good, played with condition and only has marks as to be expected from a doll that was played with. She is strung well. There is damage to the fingers on the right hand with 2 being re-glued and her second last finger having the tip broken off.

She comes wearing a gorgeous pink frock with an embroidered pattern with eyelets and trimmed with lace. She has a bow to match on the bodice of the frock and a matching ruched bonnet. It does up with buttons down the back. Underneath she has an antique petticoat with pin tucks (has some age stains), pants to match her frock and bonnet and socks and white buckle up shoes.

These Dream Babies are just gorgeous and are dolls that you immediately fall in love with! They look wonderful grouped together and the toddler models are much harder to come by than those with the full bent limbed baby bodies.
