This is a 1930’s Shirley Temple composition doll made by the firm Ideal (USA). She stands in height 20″.

She has the usual crazing that these dolls were prone to but is still in good, solid condition and strung well.

Her amber eyes have the usual crazing that these dolls get but I still prefer them original to having the iris’s replaced. She retains most of her original upper eyelashes and her eyes open and close with ease. She retains her original teeth and a tongue behind and the rest of her facial painting such as lips and eyebrows have some minor wear. She has an old repair to the base of one side of her neck which I have shown in the photos and she is clearly marked. She has a very full soft blonde mohairr wig with lots of curls and hair slides in it. It may be original but if it is not it is vintage.

Her 5 piece original composition is also in good, stable condition with crazing that is stable along with some wear to the paintwork and she has had a couple of non professional repairs to fingers and her fingernails painted pink. I have photographed her body to show any of her age faults.

She comes dressed in a white fine cotton frock with red polka dots that is in aged condition with some marks and would be from the same era but not original. She also has some white cotton undies trimmed with lace, 1930’s silk socks and more modern red shoes.

This is a lovely doll and will delight any collector of Shirley Temple Dolls.
