This doll has been in my own collection since I purchased her in 1984 from the Dolls Boutique in Melbourne where I used to frequent regularly as it was always full of the most wonderful dolls for sale.

She was made by an Australian doll artist by the name of Lari Jones and is signed on the back of her shoulderplate. She is a reproduction of an A.M. Betty Doll according to the mould. She stands in height 10.5″.

She has a bisque head, half arms and legs and the rest of her is cloth. Her facial features have been hand painted and she has a soft black wig made from mohair.

She was purchased nude and was dressed by my mother in the 1980’s and wears a bright orange silk frock with cotton sleeves and black lace trims and a matching bonnet. Underneath she has cotton top, petticoat and pantaloons. Her little boots have been hand painted.

She is a lovely earlier reproduction doll made by a talented doll artist of the era.
