This hard plastic Roddy baby doll is from the 1950’s era and Made in England. She (or he) is not without faults and as such priced cheaply. It does appear in the past that someone has tried to restore her a little.

She is a lovely solid doll with no cracks and is a toddler with her bent limbs. She has a non-working ma-ma in her torso.

She has sleeping blue eyes and looks like replaced eyelashes and eyelid paint (done a long time ago by the looks of it). She has hairlines under her eyes and the blush that again appears re-done on her cheeks has now almost all gone. The lips and nose dots, and eyebrows have also been repainted at some stage and there has been an attempt in some areas of re-colouring (forehead etc). To restore the painting I would think it needs to be totally removed before someone tries again. Someone may even have the same head that but not a body as her body is pretty good overall with just marks from a doll that was played with.

She has moulded hair and the paintwork on this appears original.

With a little work this will be a lovely doll and she sits beautifully.

She comes wearing a toddlers sized frock that is very pretty and also has some underwear.
