1950’s AUSTRALIAN CHERUB DOLL – 16″ – REQUIRES MINOR TLC
This is an Australian hard plastic Cherub doll from the 1950’s era and stands in height 16″ and has the straight legs. She requires a little TLC and as such my price reflects this.
Her original mohair auburn wig is overall in good condition and just needs slight tidying up. She has sleeping green eyes that are slightly cloudy but not too bad and retains most of her original eyelashes. Her single stroked eyebrows have some wear and there are some rub marks on her lovely bright cheeks. She has a couple of marks that did not remove on one side of her face. It appears that someone has painted her fingernails. She has the usual red painted rosebud lips.
Her body is in overall good played with condition with marks from a doll that was played with and to be expected. She does need re-stringing as her limbs are all loose but will leave that to her new owner. She has some darker seam lines, again from a played with doll. Her ma-ma is non working which is normal for dolls from this era as the rubber in them deteriorated with time.
Her clothing is just a simple later frock and she wears 1950’s Cinderella pink sandals.
With a little TLC this doll will come up nicely and a great example of these very popular Cherub dolls.
