This composition doll was made by Ideal Novelty & Toy Co (USA) in 1938 and only had a very short production time during this year. She is a doll that is not often found in Australia.

She is the celebrity Deanna Durbin and she is approximately 21″ in height.

She has had no restoration (apart from perhaps a re-string) and as you can see in the photos the composition is in very good condition.

She has nice clear sleeping eyes with her original eyelashes intact and multi stroked eyebrows and delicately stroked lower eyelashes. She has an open mouth with her original row of teeth and a tongue behind. There is some paint wear to her red lips and a scratch to the paintwork on the left hand side of her face. Any crazing is minimal and there are only minor areas of wear as to be expected from a doll of this age. Her wig appears to be original and is human hair.

Her clothing is not original but suits her perfectly but does need some stitching to the back where it is just pinned. She also has a petticoat, socks from her era and some black shoes. A vintage brooch is pinned to the bodice of her frock.

This doll displays beautifully and has a gorgeous face.
